Fall Foot Function

Prerequisite: MAT® Internship Graduate

Description: The course is vitally important for any MAT® Specialist. This course will focus on the correlation between the MAT® thought process and how it relates to lower leg and foot mechanics. A conceptual overview will be combined with practical application, in order to attain the specific skills required to effectively address lower leg and foot imbalances

Course Objectives include:

  1. Gain the skills thoroughly address the mechanical imbalances that transfer through the body as the foot contacts the ground
  2. Provide in-depth information and exploration into foot mechanics and the role of the muscles and how they function relative to each specific axis of the foot.
  3. Take an in-depth look at addressing foot imbalances, while also gaining a better understanding of how to assess your clients that come to you with orthotics.

Course Goals:

  1. To provide information which will allow students to utilize the comprehensive information and transfer the practical skills into your everyday practice.
  2. Learn how to make the right decisions for your clients regarding shoe wear, orthotics, heel lifts, etc.

  • Friday, September 19, 2014 (10:00 – 6:00)
  • Saturday, September 20, 2014 (8:30 – 5:30)
  • Sunday, September 21, 2014 (8:30 – 12:30)
