Continuing Education Requirements (CECs)

In order to keep our MAT® practitioners in good standing, MAT® tracks CEC’s annually. Certified MAT® Specialists are listed on the MAT® website under the interactive map located in “Find a Specialist” tab and the specialist directory. This is a great way for practitioners to receive referrals from the MAT® HQ website.

To retain the status: Certified MAT® Practitioner, all practitioners need to take 16 MAT® Continuing Education Credits (CECs) in each calendar year.

Below are the requirements for Continuing Education to keep your certification active:

Specialist:
All MAT® Specialists are required to fulfill 16 MAT® Continuing Education Credits (CECs) annually in order to remain compliant.

Example:  If a Certified specialist takes 16 MAT® CEC’s anytime between January 1, 2018 and December 31, 2018 they will have satisfied their CEC requirements for 2018 and will remain in the status of Certified through December 31, 2019.  If a practitioner does not take their CECs during the calendar year period of January 1, 2018 through December 31, 2018,  they will be removed from Certified status on January 1, 2019 (in this example) until they have satisfied their Continuing Education Credits for 2018.
