Online Certificate Specialist Program – Starts January 6th, 2020!

the next 12-month certificate in Muscle Activation Techniques® through Broadview University begins January 6th, 2020!

This 36 college credit program to becoming an MAT® Specialist can be completed in 4 quarters*. This program is offered online with a lab component at the end of each quarter. This program is 4 continuous quarters over the course of 12 months: Lower Body, Upper Body, Trunk and Spine, and Cervical, Hand/Foot. Financial aid is available for those who qualify.

*Completion time is based on the successful completion of the recommended course sequence and continuous enrollment in the program.

The objective of the Muscle Activation Techniques® Certificate program is to provide an understanding of the MAT® skill-set to students who have knowledge in the health and fitness field. Each course studies the MAT® approach to assessment and correction of muscular imbalances in the human body. Students are trained on the MAT® tools used to identify restrictions in joint instability relating to muscle tightness and weakness. Students gain an understanding of the unique systematic format provided through Muscle Activation Techniques® in order for them to help their clients function with maximum efficiency and balance out the muscular system.  Completing the online modules’ coursework, two-day lab, and passing the certification exam offered by MAT® will allow students to become certified in their respective disciplines and provide more in-depth assessments to their clients.


  • Getting MAT® certified with our online program through Broadview University will help prepare you in each body section disciplines as you move through the program (i.e. Lower Body, Upper Body, Trunk and Spine, and Cervical, Hand/Foot) will help you differentiate yourself from other health industry professionals even after the first module has been completed and certification obtained!
  • After taking an MAT® Certificate program you will be able to address a void in the conventional rehabilitation and exercise protocols.
  • Becoming MAT® certified by MAT® may lead to increased earning potential and set you above others in your field!


  • You will learn how to assess and address muscular imbalances within each section of the body after working through every module in this certificate program.
  • You will learn specific activation techniques and be expected to learn all attachment sites and bony landmarks along with the specific isometrics for all areas of the body.
  • You will explore the complexity of the muscular system’s role in injuries and performance enhancement.

  • Once we receive your information, Broadview University will connect with you via email or phone.
    • Broadview University will work with our Support Team to answer your questions and provide you with further information regarding the MAT® online modules.
  • Once you’re ready, we will point you in the right direction so you can get signed up!


  • The Certificate Program starts in January 6th, 2019! For prerequisite information, please click here!
    • All registrants are required to have successfully completed and passed the online coursework prior to attending the required two-day labs for each module.

  • Participants in this program are eligible for financial aid. Visit the FINANCIAL AID page for more information.
  • 2-day certification labs require a minimum of 10 participants. In the event of low enrollment, registrants will have the opportunity to schedule the next available certification lab.
