Foot Function – Advanced Attachment Site Exploration & Navigational Positioning

Prerequisite: Current MAT Students and Certified Specialist

Continuing Education:  This course earns 8 credit hours of continuing education credits.

Description: This course places an emphasis on an advanced exploration of the specific attachment sites of each area of the body and learning how to navigate boney landmarks to ensure specificity when doing Digital Force Application to Muscle Attachment Technique (DFAMAT). The majority of this class will be hands on practical application and exploration of boney landmarks and attachment sites.

Course Objectives include:

  1. Learning what it takes to be specific with your DFAMAT,
  2. A review of all of the bones in the area of the body, specific to the weekend (Trunk & Spine, Lower Body, Upper Body, Advanced Foot Function.
  3. Improving specificity when exploring and finding boney landmarks to ensure more specific DFAMAT.
  4. Providing a pathway for moving current skills toward advanced skills.

Course Goals:

  1. Discuss the difference between exploration of landmarks and actual DFAMAT
  2. Define all of the landmarks on each both of the area working on.
  3. Identify each of these landmarks through exploration of each of the bones.
  4. Identify and discuss each of the attachment sites on each of the bones.
  5. Explore and discuss geographical relationships of attachment sites and how that can make us more specific with our DFAMAT.
  6. Ensure more specificity in our DFAMAT through better navigational positioning.
