Kika Mela is a seasoned Muscle Activation Techniques® (MAT®) Master Level Specialist and Licensed Massage Therapist (LMT) with nearly 25 years of experience in therapeutic and corrective bodywork. As the President and Co-Owner of Mela Therapeutics, Inc., located in Davie, Florida, she specializes in working with athletes to enhance performance and recovery, while also applying her expertise to help non-athletes improve daily function. 

Kika began her career in massage therapy in 1995 and expanded her skill set by incorporating Muscle Activation Techniques® in 2007. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science and Health Promotion from Florida Atlantic University and completed her massage therapy training at the Florida College of Natural Health.  Her dedication to continuous learning has led her to achieve MATRx Full Body Practitioner status, making her the only practitioner with this certification in the state as of 2015. 

Throughout her career, Kika has collaborated with professional athletes and organizations, including serving as the Director of Massage and MAT at Bommarito Performance Systems and providing services to NFL teams such as the Jacksonville Jaguars from 2013 to 2016.  She has also contributed her expertise to collegiate sports teams and events like the Atlanta Olympics in 1996.

Beyond her clinical practice, Kika is committed to educating the next generation of therapists. She leads the Mela Therapeutics Massage Internship Program and has hosted various MAT courses and training sessions.  Her dedication to advancing the field of neuromuscular health is evident in her ongoing involvement in both practice and instruction.

In her personal time, Kika enjoys engaging in activities that promote physical fitness and mental well-being, including working out, boxing, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, reading, and horseback riding.
