Most of my life has been spent studying the mechanics of the human body and how to improve its function and performance. This search began when I was twelve years old. Then, all I wanted was to learn how to jump higher and shoot a basketball better. But, as I grew older, my quest for knowledge expanded, and since 2000, I’ve been using that knowledge to help others as well. My resume includes personal trainer, fitness director, strength and conditioning specialist, and educator, but I didn’t find my true passion until I discovered Muscle Activation Techniques (M.A.T.).
During both my high school and collegiate athletic careers, I was plagued by injuries. These led me to specialists in many fields, i.e. chiropractic, massage, physical therapy, etc. Each helped, but nothing brought results that could compare with those I obtained when I began working with an M.A.T. Specialist in 2004. I was so impressed that I immediately embarked on the long and difficult training necessary to become an M.A.T. specialist myself.
Today my passion as an M.A.T. Specialist comes from the positive results I have similarly been able to obtain with many hundreds of clients over the past fifteen or so years. It has become my mission to bring the benefits of M.A.T. to as many people as possible.
In 2021 I was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes. In addition to focusing on the muscle mechanics that cause injury and pain, this development led me to deeply investigate the metabolic, nutritional, and autoimmune conditions that also impact health and performance. While Diabetes is a challenge, I feel fortunate because the combination of this unique perspective and my
practical background using M.A.T. allow me to help others to improve their health, activity, longevity, and general quality of life.
