Injury Leads To Journey
Greg suffers from back injury after falling accident at rock quarry which begins his research for what will become MAT.
1988
Higher Education
Greg Roskopf graduates from California State University, with a masters in physical education in exercise science.
1990
Richard Jackson, PT
Richard Jackson mobilized Greg’s 1st MTP and his lower back pain went away for the day. The nature of the body is revelaed.
1994
NBA: John Stockton
Greg meets John Stockton of the Utah Jazz at a wedding in 1994. Greg performs an assessment at the wedding.

NBA: Utah Jazz
Following the previous encounter with John Stockton at the wedding, Greg gets hired by the NBA’s Utah Jazz as a trainer.

Dr. Craig Buhler
Greg started working intensively with the Jazz’s team chiropractor, Dr Craig Buhler. Muscle testing as a tool is taught to Greg.

Ground Work For MAT
Greg starts to prepare the groundwork for what will later become known as Muscle Activation Techniques.

Greg begins working with the Denver Broncos performing a systematic process for treating muscle dysfunction.

NBA: Utah Jazz 2nd Place
Utah Jazz are the runner up’s for the historic NBA Championship losing to Michael Jordan and the Chicago Bulls.

NFL: Broncos Win Superbowl

Greg names the systematic process used for treating muscle dysfunction, Muscle Activation Techniques.

NFL: Broncos Win Again
MAT client John Elway leads the Denver Broncos to their 2nd straight Superbowl victory. Elway also named MVP.

1st Jumpstart
The Jumpstart Programs introduces the fundamental concepts of Muscle Activation Techniques to students.

1st Specialist Program
Students learn to assess for isolated weaknesses, learning muscle tests for nearly every muscle in the body.

1st MAT HQ Opens
The first Muscle Activation Techniques headquarters opens in Denver, Colorado to patients and students.

Muscle Activation Techniques & MAT become registered trademarks through the USA Patent and Trademark Office.

Professional football player Peyton Manning becomes a client of Muscle Activation Techniques.

Peyton Manning became the oldest starting quarterback to play in and win a Super Bowl.

Professional Golfer Bryson DeChambeau becomes a Muscle Activation Techniques client and begins working with Greg.
